Did gas kill my wife?

The doctors did the same blood work and tests, but this time, an x-ray revealed something that made the doctor suspicious. He ordered a CT scan the following day, and the results were devastating. My wife had colon cancer that had metastasized to her stomach and liver. A biopsy confirmed that it was an aggressive form of cancer, and it had been present for 7 to 10 years.

As we struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis, I couldn’t help but think about the missed opportunities for early detection. Had my wife’s doctor taken her complaints seriously and ordered further testing earlier, her prognosis may have been vastly different.
